BNP Paribas' Corporate and Investment Banking branch (CIB) was named Energy Finance House of the Year in the Energy Risk Awards 2008. According to Risk Energy "sophisticated financing solutions and strong presence in emerging markets distinguished [BNP Paribas] from its competitors, captured the attention of the panel and secured [BNP Paribas] the 2008 Energy Finance award".

BNP Paribas was involved in more than 100 projects and arranged over 15 billion USD of financing in 2007. Energy Risk is a well known publication dedicated to world oil, gas and electricity markets. BNP Paribas was also short listed in the “Innovation of the year".
